Want to make money writing online? This is for you:

There are many writers online, but few who get paid well.

That's because the biggest mistake they make isn’t how they write.

It’s what they write about.

Lemme explain…

Humans are selfish.

Because of this, they’ll only read your content if they believe it’ll benefit them.

So, you need to frame everything you write around this concept.

• People don’t care about branding, they care about raising their status.

• People don’t care about nutrition, they care about how it affects their health.

• People don’t care about copywriting, they care about how it can make them money.

Hell, think about why you clicked this email.

In the headline, I didn't talk about how to improving your writing. I talked about making money from writing.

Another example:

I had a ghostwriting client who wanted to talk about finance.

One thread I wrote for him was about credit scores.

Credit scores…

Do you know how boring that shit is?

So, what did I do?

I framed the headline like this:

“How to get rich using this 1 boring thing 90% of people ignore:”

It got 215 retweets and 1368 likes.

Nothing crazy, but good for what the topic was.

Now, compare that headline to “How to increase your credit score:”

See how much more appealing the first headline is?

That’s because I focused on the benefit of credit scores, not credit scores themselves.

Benefit = The positive impact on someone’s life.

With everything you write, you need to ask yourself, “Why would someone care?”

Everyone’s motivations revolve around 2 drives:

1) Emotional drives (raising status with oneself or others)

2) Biological drives (securing your basic needs as a human)

For example:

Eating - motivated by the biological drive of hunger or the emotional drive of coping with emotions.

Sex - motivated by the biological drive to reproduce or the emotional drive of validating oneself.

Money - motivated by the biological drive of security or the emotional drive of raising status.

So, how can you use this idea in your writing?

Talk about:

• Raising charisma (status with peers)

• Boosting confidence (status with self)

• Increasing attractiveness (status with mates)

• Protecting health (security of health)

• Making more money (security of resources)

• Attracting mates (security intimacy/reproduction)

As a guide, think of your writing as a way of delivering the result people care about.

This is why it's important to take the time to understand your audience.

When you do, you'll be able to talk about solving the problems they care about and getting them closer to their desired outcome.

But that's all I got for ya today, my friend.

Hope this helps you print cash with your writing.
