Want to grow on social media? Do this:
You’re commenting.
You’re posting every day.
You’re reading books on how to write better and grow an audience.
You’re doing everything the growth gurus told you.
But a “viral” post for you is 13 likes and 1 comment from your Aunt Sally.
So, in this newsletter, I’m going to share the 4 most important pieces you need to grow by 1000s of followers.
And stick around til’ the end because I got a free gift for ya.
So, why the f*ck are you not growing?
Well, before I became a niche-micro celebrity with a bunch of 20-year-old dudes hitting me up in the DMs, I used to be in the same position.
But over the past 3 years, I learned how to grow my clients and myself by 100s of thousands of followers on social media.
All because I realized 1 thing:
If you’re speaking to everybody, you’re speaking to nobody.
You think content that appeals to everyone = More followers…
Right?
Nope.
At the start, it’s the opposite.
Everyone is making content for the masses.
The solution?
At the start of your social media journey, you need to stand out amongst the endless noise.
You need to niche down.
I simplify niching down into 4 pieces:
Demographic (who you help)
Problem (pain you solve)
Topic (how you solve that pain)
Desired outcome (benefit of solving the problem)
I help [Demographic] overcome [Problem] with [Your Topic] so they can [Desired Outcome].
For example:
I help busy entrepreneurs overcome stress and burnout with mindfulness and time management practices so they can get back 15 hours of their time each week.
Let’s break down each pillar:
How To Find a Topic You Enjoy Talking About (And Makes You Money)
Think of your social media as a tree.
Your values
Your interests
Your experiences
Form your roots.
And your roots form the foundation for the main topic you talk about (your tree trunk).
And once your following grows big enough, THEN you can branch off to more broad topics.
For example, when I first started on social media, I barely grew.
Because I was talking about everything, from fitness tips, to philosophy, to investing.
I never built a core audience around a core topic.
But once I restarted my account and focused the content around writing tips, I started to grow fast.
Then once I grew to 50K+ followers and gained more experience, I branched out to marketing and business.
So how do you find what topic to focus on at the start?
To grow on social media, you need to find a topic you have an interest in AND has market demand.
No interest = You won’t stay consistent.
No market demand = You won’t grow on social media.
When you have both, you have content market fit.
Content market fit = Growth.
Here’s how to find what to talk about:
Step 1)
List out your broad interests.
This can be:
Business
Fitness
Writing
Esoteric Irish tap dancing (I don’t judge)
Or whatever else you’re interested in.
Step 2)
Enter this ChatGPT prompt:
These are all my interests:
[Insert Your Interests]
For each interest, list out potential topics I can talk about that I can sell a service or product around.
These topics should have market demand.
Things that make other people more money or improve their health.
Don't include anything that doesn't fit this criteria.
ChatGPT will give you a bunch of options.
Pick a category that interests you the most and use this next ChatGPT prompt to give you more ideas:
“Give me a list of 25 more options for the [Insert Topic] category.
Make the options more niched down.”
Now that you have a topic, how do you find potential followers and high-paying clients?
How To Target Followers and High-Paying Clients
Pick one topic that interests you from the previous prompt and use the this next ChatGPT prompt:
“For [Insert Topic], give me a list of 50 potential demographics who would have market demand for this service.”
This will generate a huge list of people who would be interested in either following you or buying a service/product from you.
I’d recommend picking a demographic you have experience in or interests you.
This will be the demographic you’ll be interacting with on a day-to-day basis, so you want to ensure there’s alignment.
But if you really drive growth and sales?
We need to take this a step further…
Generating Endless Content Ideas
Once you’ve found a demographic, dive into what problems they have by using this ChatGPT prompt:
“What are the most common and most painful problems for [Insert Demographic] with [Insert Topic]”

You’ll then have a bunch of painful problems for your target demographic.
And painful problems means you have an opportunity to create actionable content that solves their problems.
And when you solve people’s problems?
You incentivize them to follow and/or buy from you.
Now, let’s kick this into overdrive with the final step…
Target Desires To Become Desired
Oftentimes it isn’t enough to create content that solves problems.
People don’t just want to fix their sleep…
They want to have the energy to play with their kids.
People don’t just want to lose weight…
They want to turn heads when they walk in the room.
People don’t just want to save money…
They want the freedom to provide for their loved ones.
When you understand your target audience’s desired outcomes, you can position your content and your offer better.
Resulting in more growth and more sales.
And surprise surprise, we can use ChatGPT to help by using the following prompt:
“What are the most desirable outcomes for [Insert Demographic] when it comes to [Insert Topic]”

Now you can use this information to craft more relevant content, hooks, and offers for your audience.
