Wanna play a game?

It'll get you more followers...

Let’s play a game.

And no, not the gory kinda game from the Saw movies…

I’m talking about a game that’ll help you grow your following and get more clients for your business.

Doesn’t matter if your main social media is:

  • Twitter

  • LinkedIn

  • YouTube

This works for any social media platform.

Take a look at these 2 tweets and guess which one performed better:

Tweet 1)

Tweet 2)

The first tweet has 10x more likes and 41x more reposts.

So obviously the 1st tweet did better, right?

Right?!?

The Most Important Metric You’re Not Paying Attention To

If you’re measuring the success of your content based off vanity metrics, sure, the 1st tweet did better.

But there’s a far more important metric you’re probably not paying attention to.

And this metric is much more correlated to how many:

  • Clients

  • Followers

  • Die-hard fans

Than likes and reposts.

And when you understand the core principle behind this?

You’ll be able to use it in all your future content to increase engagement.

Before revealing what this is, let’s take a deeper look at the analytics of the 2 tweets…

Tweet 1)

Tweet 2)

Again, all signs point to the 1st tweet performing better…

Until you look at the profile views.

Profile views are one of the best ways to measure the success of content, because anyone can hit the like button.

But if they’re taking the time and effort to check out your profile?

It’s much more likely they’ll become a follower and a client because they’re interested in YOU.

So if we compare the 2 tweets based on how many profile visits per impression…

The 2nd tweet did nearly 400% better.

And the funny thing?

It’s the same tweet, just written differently.

Lemme show you how you can use this to

The 4P Framework For Stories

It doesn’t take a world-class detective to figure out the difference between the 2 posts was…

*Que dramatic drumroll*

Storytelling.

When you tell a story, you become interesting and relatable.

And more importantly, stand out from your competition.

But a common misconception is that you have to write a long novel of a story to be effective.

But as a wise black woman once said:

“Ain’t nobody got time for dat.”

That’s where my simple 4P Storytelling Framework comes in.

It consists of 4 parts (and can be as short as 4 sentences):

  1. Pain

  2. Pursuit

  3. Prize

  4. Principle

Part 1) Pain

Describe a situation that caused you pain.

This pain can be:

  • Financial

  • Emotional

  • Physical

Part 2) Pursuit

What did you do to get out of your pain?

Part 3) Prize

What was the final outcome of your pursuit?

Part 4) Principle

What did you learn from it all (AKA the moral of the story)?

Not everyone can relate to your transformations, but everyone can relate to the emotions of overcoming something difficult.

So, my friend, share more transformations.

Much love and happy Thursday.

Your Canadian friend,

Dakota “Fuck Domino’s” Robertson

P.S.

I’ve been using a ton of storytelling for the curriculum of the community I’m building out.
