- I jumped 20,000ft
I jumped 20,000ft
If you're thinking of starting a biz, read this:
As the door slid open, it finally hit me what I’d done…
The icy wind slapped my face.
My adrenaline spiked as if I had gotten waterboarded with freezing water.
I looked down to see 20,000 ft between me and the ground.
See, I thought it’d be funny to surprise my brother with skydiving on his birthday.
But there were 2 problems:
I’ll do dumb stuff for funny stories.
I was terrified of heights.
Now, here I was, 19-years-old with a man strapped to my back, about to jump outta a plane.
The instructor began the countdown to jump:
“3…”
I clenched my teeth.
“2…”
I clenched my fists.
“1…”
I clenched my ass.
“JUMP!”
I went from looking at the blue sky to looking down at my fast-approaching imminent death.
“WHAT DA F*CK ARE YOU DOING SER” my brain screamed as we free-fell 190 km/h.
But after 3 seconds, something funny happened:
I let go.
And as soon as I did, I thought, “Damn… this is fun.”
The fear I had built up in my head? Gone.
The overthinking? Gone.
Turns out, the scariest part wasn’t the jump…
It was standing at the edge of the plane, thinking about the jump.
This is exactly what it felt like when I started my business.
Before I ever made a dollar online, I was stuck in analysis paralysis.
“What if I fail?”
“What if I can’t find clients?”
“What if I’m not good enough?”
Same mental diarrhea I had before skydiving.
But when I finally jumped?
When I stopped playing it safe and started actually doing?
The fear disappeared.
Was it uncomfortable at first? Yup.
Did I screw up a bunch? Hell yeah.
Was it chaotic? You betcha.
And that fear turned into a life of traveling the world, working on what I love, and have the time to do a few more skydives.
And the same thing can happen for you.
So if you’ve been tiptoeing around building your biz, watching others win, binging content, telling yourself “one day”…
Here’s your sign to stop overthinking and jump.
Because your parachute only opens after you leap.

Dakota “Take The Leap Of Faith” Robertson
P.S.
If you want me strapped to your back while you build your biz.

Personal Update
I just finished my trip to Chicago (I didn’t get shot, so that’s cool).
And now I’m back in my hometown, Kelowna, Canada.
It’s been 7 months since I’ve been here, and it’s nice to be back with the fam.
