How To Grow On Social Media Fast With Zero Followers

When I started writing on social media, it was kind of a shitshow.

I was posting random tweets about my interests, with no idea why I wasn’t growing.

But after 3 years of experimentation, investing in coaches, and growing my own accounts across Twitter, IG, YouTube, and LinkedIn…

I’ve got it down to a science.

And that’s what I wanna share with you today.

My simple 4-step method for growing to 500K+ followers on social media (even if you’re starting from 0):

1. Pick your niche:

This is where most people go wrong (especially if they have lots of interests…or only focus on all money and no fun).

But that doesn’t have to be you.

Start your account off right by aligning these two things:

1) Your interests

2) Market demand

When these two align, you’ve got ‘content-market fit’.

And that’s where the magic happens.

But before we move on, here’s why you need both of these elements:

You could be in love with Icelandic tap dancing, but there’s very little market demand for that content.

Meaning you might enjoy making the content, but you’d never make any money.

On the other hand, you might choose computer programming because you think it’ll make you great money, but still hate every second of it.

In that case, you’d never build a successful business out of it, because you’d burn out before you ever got any traction.

I’ve seen it more times than I can count.

So remember:

If your business is a tree, your main topic is the ‘trunk’ that allows you to branch out later.

That’s why it’s so important to choose the one you enjoy most AND have the most skill in…and why you should make sure it’s useful to a large enough audience to sustain a business.

Next…

2. Create content buckets:

Content buckets are the ‘roots’ of your brand.

They reach down into the minds and hearts of your audience and get them to know, like, and trust you.

These content buckets work best when grouped into three categories that I call the GAP framework:

• Growth

• Authority

• Personal

This is what bridges the gap from a total stranger to a die-hard fan.

Here’s the simple breakdown of what each category is:

Growth content is broad and gets you in front of as many eyes as possible.

An example would be a long-form post on “13-story telling secrets used by Pixar to generate over $500 million in sales”.

Authority content shows you know what you’re talking about and that you’re good at what you do.

In other words, it demonstrates competency.

These are the posts where you provide solutions to problems of your ideal clients.

One example might be: “How to make $10,000/month with a faceless YouTube channel”.

The last category, personal content, is where you talk about the things that make you unique.

You don’t need to overthink this one.

Just show bits and pieces of your life so people know you’re not a robot.

Now, a word of caution:

I’ve seen people try to skip this one, but it’s arguably the most important category.

Because all your other content can be copied.

But no one can copy your personality.

Now that you’ve got your niche and content buckets ready, let’s talk about how to…

3. Generate endless ideas:

If you’re lazy like me, you want to churn out maximum content in minimum time.

So here’s what I want you to do:

Go to ChatGPT and enter the following prompt:

“My target audience is [insert]. Give me a list of my audience’s most common and biggest pain points.”

After it gives you this list, give it this prompt:

“Reverse this list into “how-to” statements.

You’ll then have a list of endless content ideas to create content around.

Again, this can be in the form of growth, authority, or personal content.

Now for the final step:

4. Apply the ‘viral writing framework’:

I came up with this method to simplify the writing process even more.

It forces you to cut the ‘fluff’ from your writing and gives your audience a complete understanding of what you’re talking about.

I call it the ‘What, Why, How’ framework.

Here’s how to use it:

In the first part of your post, tell your audience WHAT you’re talking about.

In the second part, tell them WHY they should care.

And in the third part, tell them HOW to take action.

By the way - did you notice that I just used this to explain the framework itself?

(Lol super meta example, I know)...

Summary:

Now you’ve learned my simple 4-step framework to grow on social media fast…even if you’re starting with zero followers.

But wouldn’t it be better if you knew how to make money from this once you started growing?

That’s exactly what I’ll be showing you how to do in my new community, Full Stack Creator, opening on October 1st.
