If you feel stuck, read this:

A story about perfectionism

I'm gonna let ya in on a lil' secret...

For the past 9 months, I've been wanting to launch an offer to my audience.

But, truthfully, I was afraid.

Afraid of putting out a mediocre offer and letting my audience down.

So, I procrastinated with perfectionism.

I spent months "perfecting" my knowledge.

I spent months "perfecting" my strategy.

I spent months "perfecting" my offer.

"Once it's perfect, then I'll launch." I told myself.

But one day in the hot Texas summer of 2022, my perspective changed.

Dan Koe (who I was living with at the time) and I were driving back to our apartment after a festival.

Somehow after a night of shenanigans, his brain came up with the idea of a cohort.

But what amazed me was how fast he executed on the idea. By the time we got back to the apartment, he was fleshing out all the ideas for the cohort.

Within the first day, he was building out the systems.

He progressed more in 1 week than I had in months.

He wasn't smarter than me, he just took action.

Now, I'd like to say I immediately finished my offer and every was fine and dandy...

But, I procrastinated for a few more weeks.

And I watched Dan launch his cohort and have great success. And although I was happy for him, I was disappointed with myself.

I was stuck in the same spot I was at for months.

Still trying to make everything "just right."

The pain became so much, that I joined a coaching program for $18,000.

I knew by investing a large sum in myself, I was now determined to get my money's worth. Which meant being accountable to my coaches and executing on what they said.

But here's the funny thing...

They told me what I realized I needed to do months before hiring them.

Stop trying to be perfect and launch.

Hell, they told me to not even build the cohort before selling spots to people.

So, against my nature, I followed their advice. And like Dan Koe, my cohort launch did great. 80+ booked calls and within 2 days of taking calls, 80% of spots have been filled.

And this lessons is what I wanted to pass along to you today.

Start before you feel ready.

Posting on social media, taking on clients, launching an offer.

Whatever it is, just start.

It's too easy to fall in the trap of feeling like you're being productive when you're perfecting every little detail.

But the most successful people I know are quick to execute. They understand they need feedback before they can iterate.

The average person lives life trying not to lose.

And that's why they never win.

So, you can get in your head for months, even years, trying to make the perfect plan.

Or...

You can trust that you'll figure it out, just like you have up until now.

What you'll find on the other side of action will make it all worth it.

Much love my friends and happy Thursday.

Your Canadian friend,

Dakota "Perfectly Imperfect" Robertson
