How to charge more $ for your services

Want to charge more for your services and get more clients?

What if I told you the secret was $8 coffee?

Think about it…

Why do 20-year-old white women (and 26-year-old Canadian men) happily pay $8 for a coffee with their name misspelled?

I mean, they could pay $1 for the same thing at McDonalds.

Well, to help you understand, picture this:

You're the owner of a small coffee shop.

If you only sell plain, black coffee, you're just like every other basic coffee spot—nothing too special.

This is similar to someone who only has 1 skill, like copywriting.

You provide a service many others do.

Unless you’re in the top 10% of your skill, you’re a commodity.

This means:

  • You have to try harder to land clients

  • You have a harder time keeping clients

  • You have to charge lower prices to stay competitive

Now, imagine you also learn the art of creating fancy latte art, like crafting beautiful heart-shaped designs on the foam of a cappuccino.

Suddenly, your coffee shop becomes more than just a place to get a caffeine fix.

It's a place for those seeking a pick-me-up…

And a place to post pictures of fancy latte art to your Instagram stories to show others you actually leave your house.

You offer a more unique experience that combines taste + visual appeal.

Making your shop not only more memorable but also a spot that can charge a premium for these artistic drinks.

This is like combining 2 skills together, like copywriting with web design.

1 skill makes you a commodity.

But combining 2 skills?

You instantly separate yourself from everyone else.

This allows you to charge higher prices and attract more clients.

For example:

Someone who only sells social media ghostwriting…

vs.

Someone who sells social media ghostwriting AND directs the followers to a newsletter they write for their client to convert them to sales.

It’s much easier to become the top 1% when you combine 2 skills rather than only having 1.

This is the foundation for what I call the Full Stack Creator.

A Full Stack Creator:

  1. Becomes great at 1 skill

  2. Builds an online audience

  3. Stacks on another skill

And as their audience and skill set grows?

So does their leverage.

More leverage = More $$$.

So, I encourage you to start thinking about what you can add to your skill set.

  • Community management + Marketing?

  • Landing page copywriting + Funnels?

  • Ghostwriting + Lead generation?

  • Closing + Appointment setting?

  • Newsletters + Lead magnets?

As the creator economy grows and becomes more competitive, more people will realize the future belongs to the Full Stack Creators.

Something to think about…

Until next time.

Dakota “Full Stack” Robertson
