3 Mindset Shifts To Land More Clients
It's all in your head...
If [more] information was the answer, then we'd all be billionaires with perfect abs.
I love this quote because it perfectly sums up why most people never land clients.
Let me tell ya a quick story...
A few months ago, I was talking to a brilliant writer. They had invested in multiple courses and programs.
They could recite client acquisition strategies verbatim, knew all the "right" pricing models, and had folders of swipe files for outreach messages.
But guess how many paying clients they had?
Zero.
Meanwhile, Taylin (one of my first coaching clients) was a damn music teacher with 0 experience and landed his first $2K/month ghostwriting client within a few weeks.
Within a year, he scaled to $500K/year with his ghostwriting agency.
Today? We’re partners in our ghostwriting agency and coaching program.
The difference wasn't knowledge.
It was action.
Here's what I've noticed after helping hundreds of ghostwriters start and scale their businesses:
The people who struggle the most often know the MOST.
They're constantly consuming content, hoarding information, and "getting ready to get ready."
But the people who succeed fastest? They're messy action-takers who learn as they go.
So lemme share 3 crucial mindset shifts that separate information gatherers from those who land clients:
1. Perfection Is a Deadly Illusion
Information gatherers believe they need to master everything before starting. They think, "Once I learn X, Y, and Z, THEN I'll be ready to reach out to clients."
Action-takers understand that mastery comes through implementation.
They think, "I know enough to help someone right now, and I'll get better with each client."
2. Rejection Is Data, Not Disaster
Information gatherers avoid outreach because rejection feels personal.
They think, "If I get ghosted or rejected, it means I'm not good enough yet."
Action-takers see rejection as valuable market feedback.
They think, "Each 'no' gets me closer to understanding what works and finding my ideal clients."
3. Value Isn't Created In Isolation
Information gatherers believe they need to build the perfect system before charging premium rates.
They think, "Once my process is flawless, I can confidently charge $3K/month."
Action-takers understand that real value is co-created with clients.
They think, "I'll deliver massive value by solving real problems for real people, and refine my process along the way."
Here's the uncomfortable truth:
Whether you’re a ghostwriter, coach, or someone working a 9-to-5…
Opportunities won't wait for you to feel "ready."
While you're preparing, someone else with half your knowledge but twice your courage is landing the clients you want.
So I have a challenge for you:
This week, do ONE thing that scares you.
Reach out that potential client.
Raise your rates with an existing client.
Post the piece of content you’ve been putting off.
Take imperfect action and watch what happens.

The best way to take action is to do it with others.
That’s why I’ve partnered with my friend, Jason Fox.
Jason has generated $3.5M for himself (despite being a small account) and has helped clients generated $60M+.
