His email surprised me...
I was surprised when I read this email today:

Honestly, I was quite impressed.
Not only by the creativity of this person, but by the determination to create an opportunity that looked nonexistent.
And that's what I wanted to write about today. Because this email resonated with me.
For the past 2 years, a big reason I've gained traction was because of my determination to say "Fuck it, I'll find a way to make things work."
December 4th, 2020 was when I quit my job and dropped out of college to go all in on Twitter:
• No plan
• No followers
• No internet money
I just had the determination figure it out.
I didn't give myself an alternative.
Twitter became my only focus.
And this is one of the biggest mistakes I see people make when starting out. They want to build a Twitter account + make TikTok videos + starts a YouTube channel...and run a feet pic OnlyFans on the side.
But here's the thing:
You need to be determined with your goal. No, actually, you need to become obsessed. And that only comes from complete focus.
If you're bouncing around from idea to idea or project to project, you never allow yourself to learn a skill in-depth. You're just part of the average.
To become exceptional you need to have complete focus on one goal. One that drives you and brings your fulfillment.
Categorize everything else as noise.
When you adopt this mindset, you find multiple routes to your goal. You know there's no other path for you, so you make it work.
Can you branch out to other skills and projects?
100%.
But you need to build your foundations in one area first.
Just like how Amazon became great at books before it became the company it is today.
Go vertical, then wide.
But, my friend. That's all from me today.
Much love and happy Thursday.
Your Canadian friend,
Dakota "4 Red Bulls In" Robertson
